Corporate donors step up to help culturals like Shea's

Corporate sponsors and philanthropic donors say they want to help.

The theater season for Shea’s Performing Arts Center will remain on hold until April meaning that Shea’s will go a full year without operating income. What will it take to keep the organization viable, and are supporters willing and able to keep it afloat to protect their past investments?

Dozens of performing arts organizations across Western New York are working to figure that out. Corporate sponsors and philanthropic donors say they want to help.

Shea’s CEO Michael Murphy said the theater's major donors told him they will honor their commitments. And some, like M&T Bank, didn’t even wait to be asked. No one, Murphy said, has said they will cut back.  You can read the full story on Buffalo Business First's website
