BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Michigan Avenue Lift Bridge is currently closed to all vehicle and pedestrian traffic due to structural concerns.
Officials say there is structural concerns in the cable system that was discovered during an inspection.
The bridge is expected to be closed for several months until the cables can be replaced.
Michigan Avenue between Ohio Street and Ganson Street will also be closed during that period.
Detour signs have been posted using South Park Avenue to Louisiana Street to Ohio Street to Ganson Street.
Commercial vehicles are not permitted on Ohio Street from Michigan Avenue to Louisiana Street. Truck drivers are being asked to use Louisiana Street from South Park Avenue.
