BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Buffalo and Erie County Naval & Military Park on Saturday hosted a "Star Wars" day event.
Fans of the film gathered to meet characters, participate in crafts, and learn more through educational programming. Event organizers said it was a fun way to introduce the younger generation to the fandom.
"I grew up watching 'Star Wars,' my kids grew up watching the newer 'Star Wars,' so it's a generational thing, and it's something I can do with my kids, and a lot of parents feel the same way," Steven Tedesco, director of education at the Naval Park, told 2 On Your Side.
"It's just become a huge franchise and media thing, and it's great. It's a great day. It's a fun holiday to celebrate with nerds like me."
The day wrapped up with a screening of the film "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story."
