BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Buffalo Bandits, who are the reigning National Lacrosse League champions, have returned to practice at KeyBank Center as they prepare for the regular season to start in December.

The team held an open practice to the public on Saturday morning showcasing what a typical practice day looks like. Fans were able to hear from different players and coaches as they reflected on the organization's fifth NLL championship, and their first since 2008.

In the offseason, several key players signed contract extensions to stay with the Bandits in Buffalo, including defenseman Steve Priolo, transition player Nick Weiss, forward Kyle Buchanan, goaltender Matt Vinc, transition player Ian MacKay, forward Chase Fraser, and forward Tehoka Nanticoke.

The latest and most notable signing of the offseason, however, is a five-year contract extension for the 2023 NLL Finals MVP, forward Dhane Smith, as he will now be returning for his 11th season in Banditland.

Buffalo’s home opener and Banner Raising Night is set for Dec. 16 against the San Diego Seals.
