Poloncarz reelected Erie County Executive

First-time candidate Chrissy Casilio (R) was looking to unseat 3-term incumbent Mark Poloncarz (D).

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The big race on Election Day in Western New York is the Erie County Executive race.

First-time candidate Chrissy Casilio (R) was looking to unseat three-term incumbent Mark Poloncarz (D).

Poloncarz was reelected to a fourth term as Erie County Executive.  He has said prior to the election that this will be his last term as county executive.

"I'm standing right now with the people give me the opportunity to serve one more term. This will be the last time I ever run for county executive," he said in September.

Prior to being elected county executive, Poloncarz was the county comptroller.

2 On Your Side's Claudine Ewing sat down with both candidates and asked them a variety of question on different topics, about snow preparations, homelessness, migrants and county spending.
