Higgins planning to leave politics, take top job at Shea's

Sources tell 2 On your Side that Higgins is planning to leave his post in Washington to take over as the new president and CEO at Shea's Performing Arts Center.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — 2 On Your Side has learned from several sources that longtime U.S. Rep. Brian Higgins plans to step down.

We are being told that Higgins is planning to leave his position in Washington to take over as the new president and CEO at Shea's Performing Arts Center.

Higgins has served as a congressman since 2005. He is the representative for New York's 26th Congressional District, which includes Buffalo, Lackawanna, Niagara Falls, Tonawanda, and North Tonawanda.

2 On Your Side reached out to his office, as well as Shea's Performing Arts Center, for comment. We did not receive an immediate response but will provide and update when we do hear more.
