D'Youville College expands scholarship program

D'Youville President Lorri Clemo says there's been an overwhelming demand for more scholarships since 2013.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — D'Youville is trying to get more high school students to say yes to a college education by giving them more financial help.

Starting in spring of 2020, D'Youville's cap of scholarships will be removed.

The school's "Say Yes to Education" program will offer an unlimited number of scholarships to students graduating from Say Yes eligible schools located in Buffalo, Syracuse, and Cleveland, Ohio.

D'Youville President Lorri Clemo says there's been an overwhelming demand for more scholarships since 2013.

“I am thrilled to announce the expansion of the Say Yes Scholarship program at D’Youville," Clemo said. "This is just one more way that we are eliminating barriers to higher education for economically disadvantaged students.

"All student who wish to attend a nationally ranked university such as D'Youville should be afforded that opportunity. We want more students to take advantage of our high return on investment, which can be life-changing for our graduates."

The scholarship is also meant to fulfill a demand for healthcare workers in Buffalo.
