Man who admitted to causing dog's death, is accused of trying to rob a bank the next day

Jarrod Dillman allegedly handed the teller a forged check with a note on the back, directing the teller to give him money and not call the police.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — A Buffalo man who admitted to causing the death of a dog at a dog daycare facility is now accused of trying to rob a bank.

Jarrod Dillman, 23, was arraigned in Buffalo City Court on Attempted Robbery and Criminal Possession of a Controlled substance charges.

Dillman pleaded guilty November 6 to Aggravated Cruelty to Animals. Dillman admitted to causing the death of a 3-year-old dog in August while working at a dog daycare on Niagara Street in Buffalo.

According to Investigators, Dillman entered the M&T Bank on Elmwood Avenue and allegedly handed the teller a forged check with a note on the back, directing the teller to give him money and not call the police.

The teller told him no, and Dillman is said to have left the bank.

When Buffalo Police arrested Dillman, they say he had a small amount of crack cocaine in his possession.

Dillman is scheduled to return to court on December 16. If he is convicted of these charges, he faces up to four years in prison. He was released on his own recognizance.
