DARIEN, N.Y. — A Genesee County man learned the hard way that running away from the law does not pay.
State Police were told by the Genesee County Sheriff's office to be on the lookout for a Darien Center man wanted for several pending criminal charges.
A State Police K-9 team was traveling on Attica Road ON Tuesday and spotted the man, identified as 28-year-old Nicholas Doell. Doell saw the marked patrol car and took off on foot.
The Trooper and K-9 Rison started to chase Doell down a driveway and into a gravel pit. Doell was given several orders to stop or the dog would be released.
Rison was released and quickly caught up to Doell, biting him on the leg and bringing him to the ground. He was taken into custody and treated for the bite.
Doell is charged with resisting arrest, obstruction of governmental administration and criminal impersonation. Troopers say he gave a fake name when taken into custody.
