LOCKPORT, N.Y. — After more than 70 years in the sign manufacturing business, Rocco Santoro was ready to retire.

The 88-year-old owner of Santoro Signs has sold his company to Ulrich Sign Co. in Lockport.

“I had a relationship with Mike Ulrich, as he ran it for a lot of years,” Rocco said. “We were competitors years ago.”

Rocco and his late brother Mario started the company in 1953 as a way to earn a living.

Terms of the March acquisition were not released.
