LANCASTER, N.Y. — An Italian restaurant is in the works for Lancaster at the former Dutch Mill Restaurant.

Bruno’s Bistro is slated to open at 5259 Broadway in February, offering pizza and pasta all with house made doughs.

The concept comes from Chad Sweeney, who brings a long history as a restauranteur and chef, He began working in his family’s restaurants, including Cambria’s, then went on to own or manage restaurants and commercial kitchens at nursing homes and hospitals.

“I’ve got a ton of old family recipes that my aunt and uncle had in place 40 years ago,” he said. “I’m looking to bring back that old-school authentic Italian meal.”
