North Buffalo no longer getting a Chick-fil-A

North Buffalo residents may have to drive a little further for their Chick-fil-A fix, as plans for a site at Delaware Consumer Square are officially dead

BUFFALO, N.Y. — North Buffalo residents may have to drive a little further for their Chick-fil-A fix, as plans for a site at Delaware Consumer Square are officially dead.

It was announced in spring 2021 that Chick-fil-A planned to demolish a 9,000-square-foot outparcel at the shopping plaza to make way for a 5,400-square-foot restaurant with double drive-thru lanes and an outdoor patio. That was before the parcel at 50 Hinman Ave. at Delaware Avenue was acquired for $29 million by Flaum Management Co. of Rochester, through the company's ALS 2626 Delaware Ave. LLC.

The Chick-fil-A project later fell apart, said R. Scott Burdett, vice president for brokerage services with Flaum Management, pointing to an issue with an easement running through the property that created challenges.
