Happy ending for puppy rescued by civilians and Engine Co. 19

Both civilians and firefighters team up to save a puppy who was hit by a car, proving that Buffalo truly is the City of good neighbors.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — In a social media post on April 6 by the 'Buffalo Fire Department - Helmets & Hose Wagons' Facebook page they shared the sad story of a puppy who had been hit by a car on Grant Street and Forest Avenue. 

Luckily for the puppy, kind civilians nearby came to the rescue and brought it to Engine Co. 19 where firefighters cared for it until it was taken to the Orchard Park Veterinary Medical Center. An owner at the time was not identified. 

Fast forward a week later, and the group has now shared an update on the puppies condition.

In the post's update they wrote "Engine Co.19's 🚒🐕puppy update 🐕😢the poor little girl had surgery yesterday and they had to take her leg. But the good news is she's going to be fine and live a normal life😃👍every better she's going to her forever home very shortly."
