Hamburg teen gives back through bracelet business

Kaitlin Martin of "Beaded by Kaitlin" creates bracelet kits for kids, with the proceeds going to a good cause

BUFFALO, N.Y. — A teenage entrepreneur in Hamburg is pivoting her bracelet business to help her community in uncertain times.

Fifteen-year-old Kaitlin Martin is a student at Hamburg High School. She has an Etsy shop called "Beaded by Kaitlin," where she has sold more than one thousand natural stone beaded bracelets since 2017. Each month, she donates a portion of the proceeds to charity.

Now, she's selling craft kits for kids to make personalized bracelets with their names on them so that they have something to do during this time of social distancing. In addition to providing people with something fun to do inside, the proceeds from the bracelets will go to a new initiative to help families in her community called #FeedHamburg.
