Voluntary evacuation issued for Hoover Beach in Hamburg

Hamburg Emergency Services has issued a voluntary evacuation order for 55 homes along Hoover Beach.

HAMBURG, N.Y. — A voluntary evacuation order has been issued for 55 homes along Hoover Beach in Hamburg.

The affected homes are on South Shore Drive and part of Midshore Drive.

Lakeshore flooding has been a problem along Hoover Beach during previous wind storms.

The town has offered a shelter for residents who choose to evacuate and have nowhere else to go.

This is in relation to a High Wind Warning that was issued by the National Weather Service for Monday for all of Western New York.
