DUNKIRK, N.Y. — A portion of Rt. 5 in Dunkirk has reopened after downed power lines and trees from stormy weather caused it to close.
Dunkirk Police were called to Rt. 5 and S. Warsaw St. at 11:45 p.m. Sunday for downed power lines and trees.
A line of storms that brought heavy winds Sunday night knocked out power for the surrounding area. Because of the damage, Rt. 5 was closed between Fizell Avenue and N Serval Street while crews work to restore power.
