We've heard all along from Bills coach Sean McDermott that they didn't want to "rush" rookie quarterback Josh Allen in his development.
Turns out Allen has been the one doing the rushing.
The seventh overall pick has shown steady improvement throughout the summer and the first two preseason games, leading the Bills to make the decision to start him in Sunday's third preseason game in Orchard Park against the Bengals. The third preseason game is generally considered a dress rehearsal for the regular season and thus treated as the most important by NFL teams where the usually give the starters the most playing time.
