BUFFALO, N.Y. — Several Western New York defensive players elevate their game and played smash mouth football to warrant top defensive performances in week 2.
Jake Dean, Starpoint, had 17 tackles to lead the Spartans’ defense in their victory over the Flames.
Matt Jaworski, St. Francis SR LB, recorded 16 tackles in their games with Stubenville.
Zack Chase, CSP, recorded 13 tackles in the Wolfpack’s win over Silver Creek.
Conrad Thomas, Southwestern, limited Portville to 6 points with the senior leading the defense with 12 tackles.
Jaylen Butera with 8 tackles and Josh Tonkin with 10 tackles sparked the Red Raiders to victory over Baker.
Logan Ellis, Pioneer sophomore LB, recorded 12 tackles, 2 for loss and caused a fumble in the Panthers’ win over Olean.
Cam Cacciotti, West Seneca East SR DL, recorded 7 tackles and 2 sacks in the Trojans’ win over Sweet home.
Jared Montgomery, East Aurora SR, recorded 7 tackles, 2 sacks and recovered a fumble to lead the Blue Devils to a 2-0 record.
