Brooklyn Bishop concludes visit looking into Buffalo Catholic Diocese's handling of sex abuse allegations

Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio was sent to Buffalo to look into the Buffalo Roman Catholic Diocese and Bishop Richard Malone's handling of the clergy sex abuse scandal.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Brooklyn bishop here in WNY to investigate the Catholic Diocese of Buffalo has concluded his visit. 

Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio was sent to Buffalo to look into the Buffalo Roman Catholic Diocese and Bishop Richard Malone's handling of the clergy sex abuse scandal. 

According to the Diocese, Bishop DeMarzio interviewed nearly 80 people over the course of seven days during three different trips to Buffalo. 

Bishop DeMarzio interviewed both clergy and laypeople, as well as the Movement to Restore Trust. 

The bishop was sent to Buffalo at the request of the Holy See.

Bishop DiMarzio will put together his findings and prepare a report which will be submitted to the Holy See.
