Woman hit by vehicle in 2-car crash on Bailey Avenue in Amherst

The pedestrian was taken to Erie County Medical Center. Her head and leg injuries appeared serious but not life-threatening, Amherst Police said.

AMHERST, N.Y. — A two-car crash ended with a pedestrian being struck by one of the vehicles on Friday morning, according to Amherst Police.

The crash happened at about 7 a.m. the intersection of Bailey Avenue and Cambridge Boulevard, just north of the Grover Cleveland Highway.

Police say a 2008 Chevy Impala and a 2019 Honda were involved in a crash, which resulted in one of the vehicles striking a 54-year-old woman who was crossing Bailey Avenue.

The pedestrian was taken to Erie County Medical Center. Her head and leg injuries appeared serious but not life-threatening, Amherst Police said.

Both drivers suffered minor injuries, and Bailey Avenue was closed between Grover Cleveland intersection and Stevenson Boulevard for some time as crews cleared the scene.
