Vigil held for 21-year-olds who died in Town of Tonawanda crash

This vigil got underway around 10:50 p.m. at the crash scene, marking exactly one week since the crash happened.

TOWN OF TONAWANDA, N.Y. — A vigil was held Friday night at Sheridan Drive and Military Road for both victims of last week's crash in the Town of Tonawanda.

This vigil got underway around 10:50 p.m. at the crash scene, marking exactly one week since the crash happened.

This vigil was planned by friends of Gianna Ameno, to remember both her and her boyfriend, Tyler Lichtenberger. They were both 21 years old.

There has been a growing memorial at the site during the past week. People have left teddy bears, balloons and cards remembering Ameno.

There were two families that are grieving deeply, and Ameno's friends want to comfort those families as best they can.

It was a tough day for family and friends. Ameno's wake was held earlier Friday, and her funeral is Saturday morning.
