The Tool Library is moving to a new location in June

The Tool Library is a volunteer, non-profit tool lending library.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Tool Library will soon be moving to a new home.

The Tool Library is a volunteer, non-profit tool lending library currently located at 5 W. Northrup Place.

The organization announced Monday they will be moving in June to 2626 Main Street in Buffalo, right next to Vernon Triangle and the Amherst Street Metro Station.

"We have come to know and love the University Heights and all the friends and neighbors we have met along the way. We’re glad that we won’t be moving far," they said in a news release. "Our new location at 2626 Main Street checks off every major item on our wishlist and many of the wants and dreams we’ve heard from our members over the years."

Some of the new amenities they will have at the new location:

  • Doubling  available floor space
  • Space for in-house workshops and meetings
  • A full (dry!) basement for seasonal tool storage
  • A dedicated on-site, off street parking lot
  • Located directly adjacent to transit

The last day at the 5 W. Northrup Place location will be on Saturday, May 27.

The Tool Library will be closed from May 31-June 17 to complete their move.

The Tool Library will be open at the 2626 Main Street location on June 21.
