LOS ANGELES, CA-- A Niagara Falls man hit a home run while rummaging through some old advertising signs and papers recently in Niagara County.

Among the items was, an unusual and extremely rare Ty Cobb baseball card. The card is from the iconic T206 White Border Series featuring a rare Broad Leaf 460 advertising back. The collector realized he might have stumbled on quite the find when he listed the card on eBay and was flooded with inquiries from knowing collectors who realized what the Falls man had in his possession.

He then contacted Robert Edward Auctions for more information about the card. Company President Brian Dwyer said, "Our card experts thoroughly inspected the card and sent the T206 to Sportscard Guaranty (SGC) in Boca Raton, Florida for professional authentication. SGC reported this is only the second known Broad Leaf 460 Ty Cobb card featuring a rare portrait red background on the back. This is an exciting and unusual discovery; the Cobb card could sell for over $100,000."

As of Friday afternoon, the highest bid posted so far is $57,000. Interested bidders can take part in the auction online until May 6.
