Buildings close following Rainbow Bridge explosion

There are no known risks or threats but buildings will be closing out of caution.

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — As the story regarding an explosion that happened at the Niagara Falls Rainbow Bridge continues to develop multiple buildings in the Western New York area have been closing early. 

Building closings include:

  • JCC
  • Buffalo City Hall
  • Rath Building
  • Old County Hall
  • Family Court

There are no known risks or threats to the buildings listed but the closings are out of caution.

In addition, officials have also closed the Peace Bridge from the QEW to the I-190, and the Lewiston-Queenston Bridge is closed from Highway 405 to I-190.

The Buffalo-Niagara International Airport remains open during this time.
