Pedestrian in critical condition after being hit by a car on Christmas Eve

Police say a 39-year-old man was hit by a Honda Civic around 6:20 p.m. Tuesday on Tonawanda Street in the City of Buffalo.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — A 39-year-old man is currently in the hospital after being hit by a car on Christmas Eve in Buffalo's Black Rock neighborhood, according to the Buffalo Police Department.

Police say the man was hit by a Honda Civic around 6:20 p.m. Tuesday on Tonawanda Street, between Hertel Avenue and Austin Street. The pedestrian was walking southbound on the road when he was hit.

The man was taken to ECMC with multiple injuries, and police say he is currently listed in critical condition. 

The investigation is ongoing and no charges have been filed at this time.
