Local boy collecting Legos for Oishei Children's Hospital

Local boy with devastating cancer diagnosis wants to bring joy to other sick kids by collecting Lego sets for Oishei Children's Hospital.

Sebastian Bradley loves Legos. And he's trying to bring joy to other children who really need it, by leading a toy drive to bring his favorite toy to kids at Oishei Children's Hospital.

The effort is called Sebastian's Lego Club.

Sebastian wanted to do this because he understands what it's like to be in and out of the hospital. For nearly two years now, he's been fighting a brain tumor, and Legos have been his choice for entertainment during his chemo treatments and hospital stays.

"It's been a blessing," admits Sebastian's mom, Elizabeth Bradley. "Legos have been a huge part of his recovery since day one."

But this year, Sebastian will be home for the holidays. Elizabeth says the latest diagnosis from doctors was not a good one. The tumor had grown. She ultimately decided to stop treatments so they could focus on the family, "Making memories, taking pictures, as many as possible and just smile and enjoy it."

Part of that enjoyment, making Sebastian's Lego Club a huge success. As of Thursday night, they had about 80 sets and a huge pledge from the Lego company.

"Lego actually contacted us from Legoland, in Florida," explains friend and Sebastian's Lego Club organizer, Jenny Kaltman. "And they're going to be sending a donation for the Lego club. So, that's amazing!"
