Buffalo Police Captain Jeff Rinaldo told 2 On Your Side on Wednesday that a third officer has tested positive for COVID-19.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Three Buffalo Police officers have tested positive for COVID-19, also known as the novel coronavirus.

On Monday John Evans, president of the Buffalo Police Benevolent Association, told 2 On Your Side that two police officers from the police department's C-District tested positive for coronavirus. Evans says they are currently recovering at home.

He added that a third officer was also showing symptoms, and on Wednesday Buffalo Police Captain Jeff Rinaldo told 2 On Your Side the third officer has tested positive for COVID-19.

Rinaldo says the police department was informed of this information late Tuesday night; however, he would not specify where the officer works or their symptoms.

The officer is currently in isolation.
