2 people rushed to ECMC after car, motorcycle collide in Niagara Falls

"It appears the motorcycle had the right of way," police said in a statement Friday night. Charges are pending.

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — Two people riding a motorcycle in Niagara Falls were seriously injured Friday following a collision with another vehicle.

Niagara Falls Police at 4:48 p.m. received a call about a crash at the intersection of Hyde Park Boulevard and Cleveland Avenue, just south of Porter Road.

A 20-year-old Niagara Falls woman attempted to make a left turn from Cleveland Avenue and onto Hyde Park Boulevard when her 2008 Ford Fusion collided with a Harley Davidson that was headed south.

"It appears the motorcycle had the right of way," police said in a statement Friday night.

The person driving the motorcycle and his passenger were taken to ECMC. Police said they had broken bones and internal injuries, and that they were still being evaluated.

The woman driving the Ford had minor injuries and was treated at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.

Charges are pending, police said. An investigation by the police Crash Investigation Unit is underway.
