3 people shot Friday afternoon in Niagara Falls

All 3 people were taken to Erie County Medical Center. One underwent surgery for injuries that police considered to be life-threatening.

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — Three people were shot Friday afternoon in Niagara Falls, including one person who police say has a life-threatening injury.

Niagara Falls Police responded to a shots-fired call at 1:37 p.m. Friday and were called to the 2400 block of LaSalle Avenue, just west of Hyde Park. That's where officers found three people who had been shot.

All three people were taken to Erie County Medical Center, Niagara Falls Police said in a statement Friday night. Two of the people had injuries that police did not consider life-threatening. The third, however, was still in surgery as of 9 p.m.

Police did not release the names of the shooting victims, or their specific injuries.
