Pennsylvania man pleads guilty to trafficking guns

A Pennsylvania man has plead guilty to trafficking guns to Jamestown from July 2022 to March 2023.

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — A Pennsylvania man has pleaded guilty to conspiracy to traffic firearms which carries a maximum penalty of 15-years in prison. 

Christian Arroyo Collazo, 28 of New Castle,  plead guilty on Wednesday before a U.S. District Judge. 

Between the time frame of July 2022 and March 2023 Collazo admitted to transporting or attempted to transport firearm's from Pennsylvania to Jamestown.

The firearms included pistols, AR-style rifles, handguns, revolvers, and high-capacity magazines. Collazo had trafficked approximately 40 firearms, and had used social media to conduct conversations regarding his activities. 

According to the US Attorney's Office of Trini E. Ross, "This case is being prosecuted under the new criminal provisions of the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, which Congress enacted, and the President signed in June 2022.  The Act is the first federal statute specifically designed to target the unlawful trafficking and straw-purchasing of firearms."

Collazo's sentencing is scheduled for August 16, 2024.
