4 arraigned on charges in stolen vehicle pursuit

Dreon D. Jones, 18 of Buffalo, Jajuan J. Hunt, 19 of Buffalo, Kevin L. Tucker, III, 19 of Tonawanda and Kahill J. Reeves, 20, of Buffalo were arraigned Saturday.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Three teens and a 20-year-old are facing several charges following a stolen vehicle pursuit with police last week. 

Dreon D. Jones, 18 of Buffalo, Jajuan J. Hunt, 19 of Buffalo, Kevin L. Tucker, III, 19 of Tonawanda, and Kahill J. Reeves, 20, of Buffalo were arraigned Saturday on the following charges:

•    One count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree (Class “C” violent felony)

•    One count of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Third Degree (Class “D” felony)

•    One count of Obstruction of Governmental Administration in the Second Degree (Class “A” misdemeanor) 

•    One count of Resisting Arrest (Class “A” misdemeanor)

•    One count of Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle in the Third Degree (Class “A” misdemeanor)

Hunt is facing additional charges of one count of Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle in the Third Degree one count of Reckless Endangerment in the Second Degree and additional Vehicle & Traffic Law violations for reckless driving, imprudent speed, failure to obey traffic devices, unsafely moving from the lane and driving without a license.

According to investigators, New York State troopers attempted to pull over a stolen Jeep Grand Cherokee on East Delavan Avenue in the City of Buffalo.  They say Hunt, who was allegedly driving the Jeep at the time, refused to stop and hit multiple vehicles during the chase.  The Jeep lost a wheel in the area of Hertel Avenue and Wallace Avenue.  Police say the four fled on foot. 

A loaded, illegal handgun was also found at the scene. 

Jones, Hunt, Tucker, and Reeves are scheduled to return to court on Thursday, November 9 for a felony hearing.  They are currently being held without bail.  If they are convicted of the highest charge, they could face a maximum prison sentence of 15 years.
