Genesee County investigating a 3 vehicle crash that has left two in critical condition

Two women are in critical condition following a 3 vehicle crash involving a tractor trailer on Wednesday night in the Town of Darien.

CORFU, N.Y. — The Genesee County Sheriff's Office say a tractor trailer collided with two cars on Wednesday night at 7:14 p.m. in the Town of Darien. 

When officers arrived on the scene at State Route 77 and Mcvean Road, a 2022 Subaru with 3 occupants were found in the middle of the intersection. 

Genesee County Sheriff's Office said that the driver of the Subaru tried to make a left hand turn on Mcvean Road but failed to yield to the tractor trailer which was traveling north down State Route 77 towards the Village of Corfu. 

When the tractor trailer struck the Subaru, one of the passengers was thrown from the car and struck by another vehicle, a 2018 Ford Escape that was traveling south bound on State Route 77.  

Genesee County is investigating. 

The people inside of the Subaru were identified as the driver Brittany Smith, 30, of Macedon NY, Kayleigh Williams, 30, of Rochester NY, and Ariana Dupra, 30, of Fairport NY. 

All were transported to Strong Memorial Hospital. Both Williams and Dupra are in critical condition. 

The tractor trailer driver was identified as Lynford Yoder, 37, of Sebringville ON, Canada wasn't hurt and was released at the scene. 

The Ford Escape had two people inside of it who have been identified as driver Brandon Schoener, 25, of Grand Island NY, and Allyson Schoener, 23, of Grand Island. They were not hurt.
