BUFFALO, N.Y. — A Buffalo man faces a list of charges after allegedly dragging a New York State Police trooper with his vehicle, leading to a police chase that ended in Genesee County.

The list of charges that 29-year-old Antonio B. Tucker faces includes one felony count of reckless endangerment, two felony counts of assault/intent to injure an officer, unlawful fleeing of a police officer in a motor vehicle, and multiple vehicle and traffic tickets.

State police said the sequence of events began at 3:07 p.m. Tuesday when troopers on South Transit Road in Lockport saw a 2007 Chevrolet Equinox in violation of traffic laws. After the car was pulled over for a traffic stop, troopers said they smelled marijuana and that Tucker showed signs of being intoxicated.

Tucker was asked to get out of the vehicle. That's when, according to state police, "Tucker put the vehicle in drive and began to accelerate, dragging the Trooper approximately 15 feet before breaking free."

A car chase ensued before coming to a stop on the Thruway, near the Pembroke exit, roughly 25 miles away.

Tucker was taken into custody and taken to the Lockport Police Department station to be arraigned on Wednesday.
