Tesla CEO to hold April's company talk in Buffalo

Tesla's Elon Musk to hold April event in Buffalo

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Tesla's company talk will be held at the Buffalo Gigafactory in April.

Tesla's CEO, Elon Musk, made the announcement on Twitter Monday.

According to the tweet, part of the event will include customer and media tours.

The last reported visit Musk made to the Buffalo Gigafactory was in April 2019.

Tesla has until April 1 of this year to have more than 1,400 employees at the South Buffalo factory, according to a deal with New York State.

If Tesla falls short, it will owe the state a penalty of $41.2 million.

As of June 2019, Tesla still needed to fill 600 more jobs. Empire State Development was unable to update Tesla’s progress last month when 2 On Your Side inquired.

Buffalo mayor Byron Brown did not seem worried when we spoke to him about in January.

“It’s been a while since we’ve gotten numbers from them but it looks like they will hit the target from everything we are hearing,” Byron Brown said.
