BUFFALO, NY-- Amazon released its short list of cities it's considering for their second headquarter location and Buffalo is not on their list.
The list was narrowed down to 20 cities:
Atlanta, GA
Austin, TX
Boston, MA
Chicago, IL
Columbus, OH
Dallas, TX
Denver, CO
Indianapolis, IN
Los Angeles, CA
Miami, FL
Montgomery County, MD
Nashville, TN
Newark, NJ
New York City, NY
Northern Virginia, VA
Philadelphia, PA
Pittsburgh, PA
Raleigh, NC
Toronto, ON
Washington D.C.
The Buffalo and Rochester economic development groups had come together to create a proposal to try and woo Amazon to Western New York.
Amazon announced last September that it wants to open a second headquarters somewhere in North America to supplement its current headquarters in Seattle. The new $5 billion facility, dubbed "HQ2," would bring 50,000 jobs to one lucky community, with an average wage surpassing six-figures.
