CLARENCE, N.Y. — Athenex Pharma Solutions will close its plant on Main Street in Clarence, according to a notice posted to the state’s Department of Labor website on Dec. 23.
The global biopharmaceutical company plans to close the site March 17, with 92 employees being laid off. Athenex representatives could not be reached, but according to the state Department of Labor, the reason for the closing was “economic.”
The closing comes after months of struggles for Athenex (NASDAQ:ATNX), which has its U.S. headquarters on the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus at the Conventus Building.
