Group gives away turkeys to 100 people at 4 Buffalo locations

The Willie Hutch Jones Educational and Sports Programs said the pop-up effort served as a way to say thank you to the community.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — There was a surprise turkey give-away and drop-off on Saturday.

The Willie Hutch Jones Educational and Sports Programs did a pop-up around greater Buffalo. The organization gave away turkeys as a way to say thank you to the community.

"We have a program called Gear Up A Child, where we provide additional resources to families, and individuals who can use them," Lisa Napier of Willie Hutch Jones said.

"But this is a thank you, a community-wide thank you, for supporting our organization, and if someone needs it, it's even better."

Turkeys with all of the fixings were given out to 100 people at four locations in South Buffalo and on the city's East and West Side.
