Maurice Linguist leaves UB for coaching position at Alabama

Linguist coached three seasons for the Bulls earning a 14-23 record.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — University at Buffalo football coach Maurice Linguist is headed to Alabama after three seasons with the Buffalo Bulls. 

ESPN reported the news Tuesday afternoon that Linguist is taking a job with the Crimson Tide defensive staff.

2 On Your Side confirmed with UB VP and Director of Athletics Mark Alnutt that Linquist is leaving his position with the Bulls.

Before his run at UB, he served briefly as Michigan's co-defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach.

Linguist also coached cornerbacks at Texas A&M, defensive backs at Minnesota, safeties at Mississippi State and defensive backs at Iowa State.

During his time at Buffalo, Linguist went 14-23 overall.
