High winds are leaving some Western New Yorkers without power.

BUFFALO, NY - With a High Wind Warning in effect for most of Western New York, power outages are being seen across the area.

As of 11:45 a.m., NYSEG's outage map indicted 9,995 people without power in Erie County.

National Grid's Outage Map shows 405 people without power in Erie County.

Here's our gallery of damage caused by the wind:

National Grid released the following statement:

"The dangerous weather conditions are expected to continue into Thursday morning, bringing the potential for further service interruptions as the storm makes its way from west to east across the company’s 25,000-square-mile service area. A National Grid field force of more than 1,700 workers is active across upstate New York removing downed trees, tree limbs and other hazards, and focusing on public safety, as damaging winds, with gusts in excess of 65 mph, continue to impact the region."

The storm also caused significant damage across Western New York, causing trees to fall on top of a home in Hamburg and two cars in the city of Buffalo. The owner of one of those cars told 2 On Your Side that she came outside of her workplace around noon and found the tree sprawled across her Hyundai.

"It's pretty wild," she said. "It's crushed."

The wind also caused multiple tractor-trailers to tip over in the northern suburbs. One truck flipped near the 90/290 interchange, and another truck was blown over near the Niagara County border on Tonawanda Creek Road in Pendleton.

The High Wind Warning in Western New York lasts until 8 p.m., aside from Niagara and Orleans County, where it will be in effect until 11 p.m.
