NYSDOT issues empty tractor trailer ban ahead of high wind warnings

Starting at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday 1/9 some routes in Buffalo will be closed to empty tractor trailers due to the high winds and heavy snow rain mix.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The NYS Department of Transportation has issued a ban of empty tractor trailers on certain routes in WNY for tomorrow's high winds and heavy snow rain mix. 

Starting at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday 1/9 these routes in Buffalo will be closed to empty tractor trailers: Buffalo Skyway (NY 5), NY 219, NY 400, I-290, Kensington Expressway (NY 33), & I-86 (Chautauqua & Cattaraugus County only).

Along with this some routes in Central NY and North County will also be banning empty tractor trailers because of the weather.
