BUFFALO, N.Y. — AAA's national average report for gasoline is now almost nine cents lower, at a price of $3.03. Head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, Patrick De Haan, says that the decline of gas prices may soon come to an end but the streak has been hot for quite some time.

"As the nation's average price of gasoline has fallen for the 13th straight week, we're on the cusp of potentially seeing a $2.99 per gallon average for the first time in years, most welcome just in time for the Christmas holiday," De Haan said.

They also mentioned that demand will likely pick up this weekend, with more than 103 million people expected to hit the roads for holiday travel. AAA expects more than 115 million people to travel for the holidays.
