Sabres come away with 11th overall pick from NHL Draft Lottery.

The NHL Draft will take place June 28-29 in Las Vegas.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Buffalo Sabres now know when they'll be picking in the first round of this year's draft.

Buffalo came away with the 11th overall pick from Tuesday's NHL Draft Lottery. The Sabres, who finished this season 6th in Atlantic Division, went into the lottery with a 3.0% chance of winning the first overall pick. 

It marks the 14th straight year the Sabres will have a top-16 pick in the first round, dating back to 2011. Last season, the Sabres selected 13th overall, taking forward Zach Benson who finished with 30 points in 71 games as a rookie in 2023-24.

San Jose came away with the top overall pick, with Chicago and Anaheim following in the top-3.

The 2024 NHL Draft will take place in Las Vegas on June 28th and 29th.
