Bill Polian Talks 2015 Bills

Former Bills GM Bill Polian had the chance to return to the franchise early this year with a major leadership role in the football department. He says the sudden retirement of quarterback Kyle Orton created more of a workload than he thought he could handle.

Fastforward to Thursday with Polian set to be enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame later this summer. He spoke to the media on a conference call, and gave his take on where things stand with the Bills in the midst of all the changes this off-season has brought.

"I think they've done some really good things which are obvious ... Lesean McCoy … the re-signing of Jerry Hughes. Obviously, Rex and what he brings in terms of the spirit, aggressiveness and defensive acumen… and, obviously, the big question is who plays quarterback, and we'll find out as the preseason goes along."

No doubt the quarterback competition between Matt Cassel, EJ Manuel, and Tyrod Taylor will take center stage. The very issue that he says kept him from taking the job in the football department remains a question largely unanswered.

What is for sure is that Polian will take his place in the Pro Football Hall of Fame during inductions on August 8 in Canton, Ohio.

"You almost can't put it into words. The Hall is not something that someone like myself ever envisions. You're there with people you've revered and looked up to all your life."

Polian says Bills Hall-of-Fame coach Marv Levy will present for him.
