CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. — There's now a winner in the race for Town of Cheektowaga supervisor.

The race between Brian M. Nowak and Michael C. Jasinski was too close to call on election night, so the Erie County Board of Elections conducted a mandatory recount of the votes.

It was still a slim margin, but Nowak had 53 more votes than Jasinski. The final tally according to the Erie County BOE was:

  • Brian M. Nowak – 9,045
  • Michael C. Jasinski – 8,992

Nowak said on election night that he was confident he would retain the lead. "...I'm confident my lead will remain once all remaining absentees are counted," he wrote on social media.
