Woman hit by pick-up trying to cross Delaware Ave in Town of Tonawanda

Police say victim suffered serious injuries to her head and leg as a result.

TONAWANDA, N.Y. — Town of Tonawanda Police are looking for anyone who may have witnessed an accident involving a female pedestrian being hit by a pick-up Tuesday night.

The accident happened shortly before 6 P.M. at the intersection of Delaware and Colonial Avenues. Police say John Kolnacki, 54, of the City of Tonawanda, was turning onto Delaware Avenue, southbound when he hit the victim.

Deborah Bowers, 64, of the Town of Tonawanda, was not in a marked crosswalk at the time, according to police. She was rushed to ECMC with serious head and leg injuries.
