Amherst Police reopen Sheridan Drive following 3-car crash

A USPS truck, Ryder truck, and Mazda mini all collided Thursday in a crash on Sheridan Drive. Officials are looking for security or dash-camera footage of the area.

AMHERST, N.Y. — Amherst Police have reopened parts of Sheridan Drive after telling motorists to avoid the area due to a crash that happened at Sheridan Dr. and Jordan Rd.

Three vehicles had been involved in the crash, one being a USPS truck. The USPS truck had collided with a Ryder Truck while changing lanes. That caused the Ryder truck to spin into other lanes hitting a Mazda minivan before coming to a halt.

Drivers of both the USPS and Ryder truck were transported to ECMC with serious injuries along with passengers from the Ryder truck. The people in the Mazda mini van had minor injuries that did not require a transport.

The crash is currently under investigation. Investigators will be canvassing for video and witnesses.

Local residents and drivers who may have security or dash-camera footage of the area or incident, are asked to contact the Amherst Police Department at 716-689-1311.

No charges have been filed at this time.
