ALBANY- Vice President Joe Biden will travel to Albany on Tuesday for an unspecified event with Gov. Andrew Cuomo, the White House announced Sunday.

Details are scarce about Biden's visit to New York's Capital Region, which will come a day before Cuomo sets his 2014 agenda in his fourth State of the State address. The White House announcement Sunday morning said more information was "forthcoming."

Cuomo's office did not immediately comment on Biden's upcoming visit.

Biden, 71, has not traveled to the state capital since taking office in 2009, though President Barack Obama has made three stops in the Albany region. Most recently, Obama traveled to the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering at the University at Albany in May 2012, where he laid out a series of measures he wanted to see Congress take up.

Both Cuomo and Biden are frequently mentioned as potential Democratic candidates for president in 2016, though early polling shows both trailing former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton by a wide margin.
