MLK Day 2024 - a day on, not off

Dr. Martin Lither King Jr. would have turned 95 today, and many are using the national holiday for service projects in his honor.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — All across America, people are honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Junior.

The civil rights leader who fought for justice and an end to racial discrimination.

In Buffalo, many used the day to do service projects and volunteer.

Former Buffalo councilman Clifford Bell was born the same year as Dr. King.

He strongly believes that the holiday should not be a day off, but a day on.

"That was the intent that people should always share try to help one another and lift each other up. And that was his whole mission to set the stage for people to have that kind of outlook of our fellowship and helping one another. This is a great day to do it in the memory of a man."
