Fire breaks out at 5-story apartment complex

The fire caused an estimated $200,000 in damages. The cause remains under investigation.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Buffalo firefighters were called to a Delaware Avenue apartment complex after a fire started.

The call came in around 3:30 p.m. Thursday at 1310 Delaware Avenue. A spokesperson for the Buffalo Fire Department said a fire started in the bedroom of a first-floor apartment.

The fire caused an estimated $200,000 in damages. The cause remains under investigation.

"We came with our standard response, which is three pumpers, three trucks, and our rescue and some support staff," Buffalo Fire division chief Daniel Bossi said.

"When I got here with the confirmed fire, we did add an extra two pumpers and another truck, just as a precaution to have the extra manpower, if we needed them. We didn't end up needing them, and we put them back in service relatively quickly."
