The Erie County Sheriff's Office is looking for the car involved in a deadly hit-and-run

A deadly crash happened Monday night on Transit Road near French and Clinton Street.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Erie County Sheriff's Office is investigating a deadly hit-and-run crash in Elma. According to officials, it happened Monday night near 4701 Transit Road. 

Northbound Transit Road from French to Clinton Street was closed for several hours Monday night while investigators were on the scene.

Officials are now looking for a white Chrysler Town and Country minivan, likely a 2008 through 2016 model. They say it will have damage to a headlight, turning signal, and the passenger side mirror.

The Sheriff's Office has not released any details about the victim.

Anyone with information on the crash or the whereabouts of the vehicle is asked to call the Erie County Sheriff's Office at (716) 858-2903.

Garcia reports that the Erie County Sheriff's Office (ECSO) Crash Investigation Unit (CIU) is seeking the public's assistance in identifying a vehicle and operator involved in a hit and run incident in the vicinity of 4701 Transit Road, Elma, last night. The exact time of the incident is unknown at this time, but a male pedestrian was struck and killed as a result of the incident. The CIU is looking for a 2008-2017 Dodge Caravan or Chrysler Town and Country, possibly white or light in color. The vehicle will be missing molding behind the passenger side-view mirror and a broken front right side turn signal (yellow lens). The attached video shows the white or light-colored vehicle (in the top-left) shortly after the incident.
